Klutho Park is disc golf central

Who’s down for a game of disc golf in Jacksonville’s oldest, most historic neighborhood? Henry Klutho Park, located just north of downtown, buffers against historic Springfield, J’ville’s first neighborhood.

The park’s southern boarder is Hogan’s Creek, a year round home for geese. The park’s history is immense, founded in the early 1900s the land was donated to the city by a wealthy company. In the 1910s the park server a small zoo and later the city’s first municipal swimming pool – although both of these are gone and there is little evidence remaining.

Nowadays the park serves Jacksonville as an amiable promenade and disc golf course.
