As Spring Break rolls on, why not stop by the beach. Jacksonville Beach is wonderful this time of year. Thanks to is ideal location in Northeast Florida the waters are warm by mid-March and a balmy 80 degrees by April.
Albeit Jax Beach (as the locals call it) doesn’t have the most bodacious waves, it still brings in an average 2 foot swells on most days. But when we have a tropical storm trudge by, the surf has known to rise to the occasion.
Beach access is free as well as public parking, you just have to find it. There are public parking corridors located at the ends of almost each “avenue” (north/south roads are called “street,” east/west roads are called “avenue). There are life guard towers and life guards on duty during peak hours. Be sure to check the Red Cross Jax Beach website to ensure they will be there when you are.
